Legislative Semester Social Media Coordinator

Pay: $30/ hour

Hours: 16 hours per month, flexible schedule

We’re seeking an innovative social media coordinator to help us build awareness of our organization, and elevate our online presence. The Social Media Coordinator is responsible for planning, implementing and monitoring our social media strategy in collaboration with our leadership team. Our goal is to connect with and stay engaged with the large community of teachers, students, alumni, parents and supporters of the Legislative Semester.

You’ll work with the Executive Director to develop a social media strategy, create dynamic content for our social media platforms, engage with stakeholders, and make recommendations to enhance our online presence. The ideal candidate will harness their creativity to heighten visibility and connect with our community of teachers, alumni, and supporters.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement our social media strategy

  • Establish, manage and monitor social media accounts on a variety of platforms

  • Manage and oversee social media content that is informative and appealing

  • Monitor user engagement

  • Deliver monthly reports and make recommendations

Qualifications:

  • Commitment to the importance of civics education for a thriving democracy

  • Regular user of a variety of social media platforms

  • Willingness to collaborate towards common goals

  • Creative problem solver

  • Skilled at planning and organization

  • Experience with the Legislative Semester government simulation is preferred
